Britain construction firm Taylor Woodrow has inked a pre-construction services deal to support the construction of 10,000 homes at £6bn Meridian Water development in London, UK.
Under the contract, Taylor Woodrow will provide support in the design development of strategic infrastructure to deliver the housing scheme.
As part of the 12-month design development phase, the construction firm will work with design partner Watermans to develop a sustainable design and construction solution for the project and commence early engagement with supply chain partners.
The design development phase will be followed by a two-year construction programme to deliver the key phase in the transformational plan.
The £90m project will include the remediation of the existing site and construction of roads, bridges and flood mitigation measures; as well as electricity, gas, communications, water connections and new landscaped parkland areas.

The project, which is funded by the central government, forms part of a UK-wide initiative to provide housing and create jobs in the local communities.
Enfield Council leader Nesil Caliskan said: “This is a major step forward for Meridian Water, the delivery of infrastructure on the site will pave the way for the 10,000 homes and 6,000 jobs we will be creating in this development.
“Successfully delivering the infrastructure on the site will be a major step forward in what will be a transformational plan for the area, providing homes, jobs and parkland for the lasting benefit of our borough’s residents.
“We are proceeding with pace on this ambitious programme which transform the face of Enfield and play a major role in tackling the housing crisis locally and providing a new, state of the art development which will provide the good quality jobs and homes our residents need.”
