Stevanato Group, an Italian packaging containers manufacturer, has commenced construction on a new facility in Piombino Dese, Italy.
The new 6,750m2 facility, which is an expansion of the firm’s corporate headquarters, is expected to help optimise its industrial presence.

The new facility will comprise about 2,500m2 of area dedicated to boosting production of high-value offerings.
It will also host offices, analytical services site, and R&D space, in addition to featuring new glass syringe forming lines to grow EZ-fill solutions’ production.

Industrial production is scheduled to start between the late second quarter and early third quarter of 2022.
The new building forms part of Stevanato Group’s 2020-2023 Industrial Plan, which aims to meet rising demand for premium products.
Stevanato recently commissioned two additional lines for the production of EZ-fill vials and syringes in Italy.
It plans to add two more lines to manufacture EZ-fill syringes and one line for Alba syringes in 2022.
The expansion plan will contribute to the company’s plan of tripling production of EZ-fill pre-fillable sterile syringes by 2023.
It also forms part of the firm’s strategy to improve production of EZ-fill sterile vials and cartridges 19x by 2023, compared to 2016.
