Canadian design firm Stantec has been appointed as prime consultant to design the new Queensway Health Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Under the contract, the company will be responsible for the architectural, interior design, and building and civil engineering services for the new nine-storey patient tower.

The 600,000ft2 hospital building, which is part of Trillium Health Partners (THP), will address the growing community needs as well as the aging infrastructure.
The ground floor of the new hospital building will have public entrances with check-in services, administration support, waiting areas, and retail amenities.
The patient tower will feature landscaped outdoor spaces as well as two courtyards.
Upon completion, the expansion will provide more than 350 beds in a modern centre for services related to complex care and rehabilitation.

The company is also designing minor renovations to the existing Trillium Health Partners hospital as part of the Queensway project.
Additionally, it is providing planning, design, and conformance services for the new Mississauga Hospital project of THP.
This hospital expansion will improve access to specialised health services and increase the bed capacity.
