Canadian design firm Stantec is leading the first phase of the $3bn Pure Water San Diego programme to supply local, sustainable water to more than 1.4 million residents of San Diego, US.
Since 2015, the company is working in partnership with Brown and Caldwell and the City of San Diego to bring the programme to life and supply safe, high-quality water to California’s city.
The Pure Water San Diego programme is a phased, multi-year programme that will provide one-third of San Diego’s water supply locally by the end of 2035.
It will transform the City’s existing water system to maximise the use and reuse of its own water supply and provided a cost-effective investment for the city’s water needs.
The design firm will lead the team to provide programme management services for the multibillion-dollar initiative.
It will create a programme-wide delivery strategy and robust program governance structure with associated procedures, plans, controls, business processes, and reporting requirements.
