Swedish construction company Skanska has announced a €45m ($54.4m) investment in the second phase of the Equilibrium office project in Bucharest, Romania.
Located in the northern part of Bucharest, in the Barbu Vacarescu – Floreasca area, the office project is a two-building complex that will offer 40,300m2 of total area.
The 12-storey building covering 19,900m2 of area will comprise more than 200 parking lots above- and underground.
Construction on the Equilibrium 2 building is scheduled to commence this month with completion planned in the first quarter of 2023.
The first Equilibrium building, comprising 20,600m2 of area, 12 aboveground floors and 240 underground and aboveground parking places, was delivered in November 2019.
Completely accessible to community and residents, the project is said to be a unique mix of green relaxation spaces and meeting hubs.

Recently, Skanska signed a contract worth €272m with Kanta-Häme Hospital District to construct a new hospital in Hämeenlinna, Finland.
The hospital was assigned to be constructed by an alliance consortium where Skanska will serve as the main contractor. The alliance also includes Kanta-Häme Hospital District and Sweco.
A joint venture of architectural agencies, Team Integrated, is also part of the alliance.
The new central hospital building consisting of 74,000m2 will be divided into three parts.
The services at the facility include emergency medical services as well as all major medical specialties, including psychiatry along with primary health care, dentistry, and acute home care and home hospital services.
