SEGRO has formed a joint venture (JV) with mixed-use developer St George to deliver an urban multi-storey industrial development in the UK.

The new six-storey building will be a part of a major mixed-use neighbourhood called Grand Union in Brent, North West London being delivered by St George.

The 134,500ft2 light industrial building will be named SEGRO V-Park Grand Union and will be designed to maximise employment space and accessibility on the 1.7-acre site.

The ground and first floors of the building will include more than 100 parking spaces, with electric vehicle charging points.

Meanwhile, the flexible industrial space will be arranged over four upper levels of the building that can be configured as up to 20 individual units of different sizes.

The development will also feature breakout areas, shared meeting rooms, a green roof terrace and wellness spaces.

Additionally, SEGRO V-Park Grand Union will include sustainability features such as an internal green wall and photovoltaic cells.

Construction work on the project is expected to commence next summer.

Greater London Authority Planning, Regeneration and Skills deputy mayor Jules Pipe said: “SEGRO V-Park Grand Union is a very welcome, innovative approach to industrial intensification that will form part of an exciting new mixed-use development in London.

“The development will provide high quality homes, whilst creating much needed industrial workspace for a rich variety of small businesses that will create hundreds of jobs in the community.

“We are looking forward to SEGRO and St George delivering a new, vibrant, mixed-use scheme that will bring affordable homes and jobs to Brent.”
