Integrated Health Projects (IHP) has been selected as the design and construction partner for the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust’s (SaTH) Hospitals Transformation Programme (HTP) in the UK.  

IHP is a joint venture between VINCI Building and Sir Robert McAlpine. 

This move is expected to advance the development of the HTP, which aims to improve acute hospital services for the communities of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and mid-Wales. 

IHP intends to assist the trust in navigating the final stage of the national approval process. 

Preparatory works are scheduled to commence this month at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site, with the establishment of hoardings and site cabins.

Clinicians have formulated the transformation plans, with the Telford site focusing on planned care and the Shrewsbury site dedicated to emergency services.  

The Telford facility will offer year-round planned care services, aiming to minimise cancellations and delays for operations.  

Both hospital sites are set to benefit from enhanced urgent care services available 24/7. 

Meanwhile, the new, purpose-built emergency department in Shrewsbury is expected to offer emergency care services. 

This department is anticipated to ensure quicker consultations, reduced hospital stays, and faster ambulance handover times.
