Central Construction Management, a full-service construction company, has commenced the final phase of the facade restoration project at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers, New York, US.

The board of directors of the institution chose Central Construction Management for this restoration project.

The project involves exterior restoration work on the main healthcare building of the 133-year-old institution.

It also includes a full-scale facade restoration from the ground level to the roof of the ten-storey hospital building, which was originally built in 1978.

Additional works include rebuilding of parapets, replacement of exterior masonry, and structural steel installations.

The project, financed by Central Construction Management, is expected to take an additional ten months to complete.

This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to supporting not-for-profit healthcare institutions such as Saint Joseph’s Medical Center.

Central Construction principal Andrew Bardolf said: “Financial constraints were a very real factor that put the full and necessary scope of work in jeopardy.

“Given the extensive levels of facade deterioration present, our team felt it was important to do whatever was necessary to get the work done as quickly as possible, including providing the financing for the project.”

Following the completion of the current phase, Central Construction will commence exterior repairs on the original building, constructed in 1934, also located on the Yonkers campus.

The design for the project is provided by Gilsanz Murray Steficek – Engineers and Architects.
