PulteGroup has announced the start of construction on Ryehill and Del Webb Sugar Land, two new planned communities in Sugar Land, Texas, US, near Hwy 59 and Grand Parkway.

A ground-breaking event, which was held to mark the start of construction, was attended by local officials, including Sugar Land’s mayor Joe Zimmerman.

This development is a collaborative effort involving the City of Sugar Land, SKLaw, Pape-Dawson Engineers, Oxland Advisors, Wheless Properties, and Taylor Morrison.

Zimmerman said: “This agreement provides an opportunity to expand the city’s water and wastewater distribution system, benefiting Sugar Land residents in the area.”

Upon project completion, these communities will include approximately 2,500 homes.

The homes will feature a range of flexible floor plans from Pulte Homes, Taylor Morrison, and Del Webb, PulteGroup’s brand catering to active adults.

Pulte Homes and Taylor Morrison say they are set to offer life-tested designs that cater to the demands of modern living.

Meanwhile, Del Webb will focus on providing options tailored for buyers over 55, featuring amenities in a gated environment designed for social interaction.

This marks the third Houston-area community for Del Webb.

The Ryehill communities are planned to include parks, recreational facilities, and 60 acres dedicated to retail, commercial, and office space.

PulteGroup Houston division president Lindy Oliva said: “Ryehill will offer residents a variety of housing options, world-class amenities, and a convenient location close to major employers and entertainment destinations.”

Last year, PulteGroup disclosed plans for The Landings, a master-planned development in northern St. Johns County, Florida, US.
