Peab has secured a contract from Linköping Municipality and Tekniska verken in Sweden for construction of infrastructure for the new housing tract Näsby in Linköping.

The contract carries a value of $13.25m (SEK104m).

For this project, Peab will be responsible for carrying out works on streets, rainwater, park/nature, water, and wastewater, district heating, electricity, optical fibre, and lighting.

The geographic surface for this project is around 100 acres.

Peab region manager Stefan Andersson said: “We’re very happy about winning this project and look forward to working together with Linköping Municipality. We’re also proud to contribute to developing the community of Linköping.”

Work on this traditional contract commences this month and is anticipated to finish in April 2026.

Peab will register the contract in Q3 2022.

Last week, Borås City in Sweden commissioned Peab to rebuild Särla School into a modern educational facility that can accommodate 500 students.

The contract carries a value of $22.33 (SEK240m).

Various parts of the school are considered obsolete and need to undergo renovation.

Peab is required to refit the school to suit the present educational requirements.

Peab region manager Liselott Bergkvist said: “We’re really happy to contribute to community building by rebuilding Särla School. Building a school for today and many generations to come is a serious and important project for us as community builders.”

The existing gym, cafeteria, and kitchen will be demolished and replaced with a larger gymnasium, cafeteria, and commercial kitchen.
