Peab has received contracts, worth a total of around $37m, to build two schools – one each in Sweden, and Norway.
The company has been commissioned by Björnekulla Fastighets to build Haganäs School in Åstorp, northeast of Helsingborg, Sweden.
This contract is worth $23.50m (SEK251m).
Situated in the centre of Åstorp near Bjärshög sports area on Villagatan, the K-6 school, with a total gross construction area of around 9,500m2, will feature an elementary special school, training school, and pre-school.
Peab region manager Olle Olsson said: “This project is an important investment in the future for the residents of Åstorp and we’re proud to contribute to it. The school will be a meeting place for both students and personnel as well as everyone in the community. In other words, it’s a great example of our locally produced community building.”
Björnekulla Fastighets project manager Jonas Johansson said: “Haganäs School will be the first in the renewal of our school buildings and a fantastic asset for the municipality as a whole. We’re really pleased with what we’ve achieved theoretically and look forward to our shared road to completion.”
