Onx Homes has launched its X+ Construction Systems Factory in Pompano Beach, Florida, US, which is said to be the first in North America.

This facility, powered by the company’s proprietary X+ Construction technology, is expected to produce four homes daily.

The launch was led by Onx CEO and co-founder Ash Bhardwaj.

Ash Bhardwaj said: “The X+ Construction Systems Factory launch is the linchpin to our future progress. It brings together our proprietary technology and showcases our proven ability to use X+ Construction to deliver resilient homes with speed and drive lower ownership costs to new homeowners.

“We believe technology is the solution to solving the ongoing housing shortage, the impact of natural disasters on homes and the growing cost of home ownership.

“Through this facility, we are able to build over 1,200 homes annually. We are taking this model to four new markets: Texas, California, Arizona and Nevada.”

The 150,000ft2 Pompano Beach facility was constructed with an investment of $50m.

It is intended to boost production capacity as well as create more than 250 jobs in various sectors including factory operations, supply chain, logistics, and onsite assembly.

The factory’s production capabilities include light-gauge steel roof systems and monolithic low-carbon concrete wall panels with dual-layer reinforced steel and built-in insulation.

These components are engineered to withstand wind loads of up to 175mph and offer a lifespan exceeding 100 years.

By leveraging X+ Construction technology, Onx aims to shorten the building timeline, constructing a new home in 30 days.

The quality of the homes and energy efficiency is said to result in Onx homeowners experiencing 50% to 60% lower lifetime ownership costs, including reduced maintenance and insurance expenses.

More than 1,500 individuals are noted to be already residing in Onx Homes, and more than 700 homes are planned to be delivered this year.

The company currently has 12 communities of single-family homes and townhouses in Miami-Dade County, Southwest Florida, and Central Florida, all of which will be continued to be supplied by the new X+ Systems factory.

In addition, Onx has initiated construction on a 1,000-home community, On Rockin Wilco, in Texas and is progressing towards opening another factory in Georgetown.

Since commencing operations in April 2021, Onx has delivered more than 500 homes to date.
