Novant Health has broken ground on the $154m Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center in South Charlotte, North Carolina.

The 38-acre site, which was previously owned by Hall Family Farm, will be transformed into a new 161,000ft2 advanced medical facility that will include both hospital and medical office building.

It will provide services that include emergency care, inpatient (medical/surgical and intermediate), women’s care (including birthing suites), expanded diagnostic services, and surgical services.

The construction of the new medical campus is part of Novant Health’s commitment to improve the health of communities throughout Mecklenburg County.

The Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center will also include walking trails and space for community events to ensure connection with south Charlotte residents.

Slated to be opened in 2023, the new hospital will improve access as well as the quality of care in Ballantyne and the surrounding communities.

Recently, Vets Pets, a cooperative group of veterinary hospitals, has commenced construction on the Points East Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Wilson, North Carolina.

Located at 1611 Convoy Lane in Fayetteville, the 7,045ft2 facility will be connected to the emergency and specialty hospital in Wilson, Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital.

Scheduled to begin operations this summer, the new hospital will serve as a sister facility to Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital.
