The New Jersey Hall of Fame (NJHOF) has broken ground on the Entertainment and Learning Center (ELC) at American Dream, a shopping and dining location in the US.

The custom-built 10,000ft² facility will be built on the third floor of American Dream near Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park in New Jersey Meadowlands.

It seeks to celebrate the Garden State and NJHOF inductees through various exhibits.

The ELC will feature a life-size replica of the inductees, a virtual reality experience through the Hometown Exhibit, and a Wall of Fame that will showcase artefacts and plaques representing over 200 inductees.

Other attractions include a hologram karaoke stage and Everyday Heroes, which will highlight the deeds of New Jersey citizens.

The Model ‘T’ Ford car gifted by Henry Ford to Hall of Fame inductee Thomas Edison will also be displayed at the centre.

Hall of Fame chairman Jon Hanson said: “American Dream is a one-of-a-kind destination and a New Jersey icon, making it the ideal location for our state-of-the-art centre.

“The entertainment and learning centre will be one of the ultimate symbols of Jersey pride where we will be able to celebrate our great state and all the contributions made by its many illustrious residents.”

Hall of Fame president Steve Edwards said: “It’s a place where we can take pride in our Jersey grit; and where we can all, including our children, be inspired to realise our highest and best sense of selves.”

Developed by Triple Five Group, American Dream is a combination of retail, entertainment and dining.
