US-based human resource company Vertical Screen’s headquarters in Warminster, Pennsylvania, have secured LEED Platinum certification from the US Green Building Council.
Under the LEED New Construction v2.2 rating system, Vertical Screen’s headquarters building scored 58 points, the company said.
The 50,000ft2 building has adopted advanced green technologies, including a roof-mounted solar photovoltaic array comprised of 900 panels that generates 163kW of power, a rainwater harvesting system and a daylight harvesting system.
It also includes a geothermal heating, ventilation and air conditioning system that uses 64 closed ground-loop wells installed at a depth of 500ft to use the Earth’s mean temperature to heat and cool the building.
The building is also equipped with a building automation system to control lights based on the amount of daylight available.
The building uses 60% less energy and 70% less water than a comparable office building, according to Vertical Screen.
