Veidekkes Entreprenor has secured a Nkr103m ($18.22m) contract from Pollen P-hus to build an underground parking facility for 510 cars between Pollen and Barbu in the centre of Arendal, Norway.
As part of the project, the Norway-based company will create two caverns with a total area of 52,000m3, along with access tunnels for entry and exit from Barbu and a pedestrian tunnel from the caverns to Pollen.

The project will be carried out as a turnkey project, including planning and structural and technical installations.
The work will be carried out by Veidekke Entreprenor in cooperation with subsidiary Br Reme.
Construction work on the project is scheduled to be completed in November 2012.
The facility is intended to be expanded to accommodate 900 more cars in the second phase, for which the contract will be awarded later.
