The University of Notre Dame in Indiana, US, is set to revamp and expand the Morris Inn, an on-campus hotel, at a cost of $32m.

Under the project the number of guest rooms will be increased from 92 to 138 and the size of the rooms will be expanded from 240ft2 to 360ft2.

The hotel will incorporate a new 300-seat ballroom at its north side and three private dining rooms will be added to the eastern side of the building.

The renovation will expand the building’s footprint from 72,000ft2 to 130,000ft2.

The building’s design and construction is expected to get LEED Silver certification on its completion in autumn 2013.
