US-based builder Suffolk has been selected to manage the construction of a new retail, commercial and residential tower at 532 Neptune Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, US.
The new development is part of real estate investment firm Cammeby’s new mixed-use neighbourhood destination, Neptune/Sixth, being constructed at Coney Island and designed by S9 Architecture.
Suffolk will supervise the construction of a 50,000ft² community facility, a 42-storey residential tower, parking, and more than 100,000ft² of retail space.
A commercial and retail building at 626 Sheepshead Bay Road is also currently being built as part of Neptune/Sixth development.
Expected to be completed by the end of this year, the Sheepshead Bay Road building is situated beside the planned residential tower and is connected to it by outdoor landscape and seating areas.
Suffolk New York region president and general manager Charles Avolio has said: “Our innovative processes and build smart approach will enable us to deliver a more predictable and efficient project with the highest levels of quality and safety.”

Cammeby’s development executive vice-president Jacob Cohen said: “We’re pleased to partner with Suffolk, and look forward to delivering a high-quality development that will positively contribute to the neighbourhood’s vitality through an infusion of new residential, retail and commercial options.”
The company has entered into lease agreements over the last several months with various retailers such as NetCost, Capital One, CVS Pharmacy, DII Stores and Apple Bank to operate within Neptune/Sixth.
