Sri Lanka is to build a 350m tower named Lotus Telecom Tower in the town of Peliyagoda, near Colombo.

The 11-storey tower will have a section in the form of a lotus flower spanning the top seven floors.

The tower will house a revolving restaurant on the fourth floor of the Lotus Flower segment, which begin from the fifth floor of the tower.

The top floor will be an observation floor, offering views of Colombo, while the base of the tower will have four levels of shopping andrestaurants.

The tower will be built on a 20-acre area, which will have space for a leisure park, rollercoasters and other modern leisure facilities.

A Chinese firm will carry out the construction work while the director general of the Central Cultural Fund of Sri Lanka and the head of the architectural division of the Moratuwa University will supervise.

The tower is scheduled to be completed in three years, according to asiantribune.com.
