Skanska has won two contracts in the US that are worth about SEK450m ($65m) and SEK340m ($49m) respectively.

The company has signed a contract with a US-based healthcare provider to expand an existing hospital in central Texas.

Under the terms of the deal, Skanska will oversee construction of the 22,000m² expansion, which plans to add seven floors to the building, as well as additional horizontal space to the existing hospital.

Construction on the hospital is expected to commence in January with completion anticipated in September 2016.

The $65m contract value is said to be included in order bookings for Skanska USA Building for the fourth quarter of 2014.

"One of four residential towers holding 239 apartment homes will be upgraded in addition to about 2,600m² of retail and amenity space."

Separately, Skanska has also signed a $49m contract with a confidential client to modernise a residential apartment tower in Philadelphia.

As per the terms, one of four residential towers holding 239 apartment homes will be upgraded in addition to about 2,600m² of retail and amenity space.

The 239 apartment homes would be completely renovated and the plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems would be replaced and upgraded.

The scope of work also includes talking up repair works to the building’s entrance and underground parking garage besides making substantial improvements to resident amenities, including the pool area, retail spaces and landscaping.

Construction on the towers is said to have already begun and is expected to be completed in November 2015.
