Skanska has won a £30m contract from Germany-based Union Investment Real Estate to start a major office renovation project at Finsbury Circus House in London, UK.

Skanska said the initial works will include the demolition of the ground floor slab, together with structural alterations to the existing eight-storey office building.

During the reconstruction phase, Skanska will build an additional rooftop floor to provide around 1000m2 of additional office space.

The scope of the project includes the full restoration of the existing façade to the Finsbury Circus elevation and the construction of a new rear façade incorporating Portland Stone.

The construction work of the project is scheduled to finish by January 2013.

CORE has been hired as the manager of the office renovation project by Union Investment Real Estate, which owns Finsbury Circus House.
