Six Construct, in partnership with Al-Muhaidib Contracting Company, has won a $552m contract from Saudi Aramco to design and build a 60,000-seat stadium at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The project involves the construction of sports facilities including the stadium, indoor stadia, a golf course, a sports academy, youth hostels and a sports medicine hospital.
The sports city will be built on a 9km² area north of Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia-based oil company Saudi Aramco was given the task of developing the sports city on behalf of the Saudi Arabian Government in 2009 and the company has tendered road projects for the development.
Six Construct is owned by BESIX Group, which is a 50-50 joint venture between Belgian construction company Besix and Orascom Construction Industries.
