Security Properties has submitted a plan to Chicago City Council in the US for the redevelopment of a seven-acre mixed-use site north of its downtown district.

The redevelopment has been designed by FitzGerald Associates Architects of Chicago, in collaboration with Bumgardner Architects of Seattle and Hitchcock Design Group of Chicago.

The development will consist of four residential towers, ranging 300-440ft high, 55,000ft2 of new ground-level retail space and structured parking for 1,300 vehicles.

The facility will also contain a public, two-acre terraced park at its centre with sitting areas, walking paths, a ring of homes at its perimeter and a free-standing low-scale building intended for a restaurant.

The project would be carried out in four phases. I planning consent is granted, construction work on Phase I is expected to start in 2013.
