The Australian Government has revealed designs for the Sydney Opera House under the latest $202m renovation project.
The renewal plan will see the modernisation of the acoustics with the introduction of a 3D system and drapes. The glass doughnut-shaped acoustic reflectors will also be replaced with a concert ceiling, reported The Guardian.
In addition, office spaces will be refurbished and transformed into a new creative learning centre, which will be dedicated to children, families, and young people.
A premium function centre will also be established, replacing the existing marquee from the Northern Broadwalk.
The renewal also includes creation of a car-free entrance under the Monumental Steps while improving access to the main foyer. A tunnel-cutting will be introduced beneath the stairs to the concert hall, further improving access.

By GlobalDataSydney Opera House's CEO Louise Herron said: “These renewal projects are designed to ensure the Opera House continues to evolve, welcoming and inspiring people in as many ways as possible.
“The Opera House has exceeded everyone’s expectations, from the scale, range, and intensity of performances and events to the wide variety of visitors it attracts from around the world.
“So much of what the Opera House does today could not have been envisaged when it was first conceived and built. It is crucial that as we work through these Renewal projects we respect our incredible heritage.”
The upgrading work will be completed over a period of 18 months, expected to begin in mid-2019. The hall is expected to be re-opened in 2021.
