RCP Companies has announced its plan to construct a $300m mixed-use development in Henry County of Atlanta, US.

The project, known as Jodeco|Atlanta South, will commence construction later this year and is expected to house initial tenants by 2017.

The preliminary plans of the project include retail outlets, restaurants, an entertainment centre, amphitheatre, fitness and recreation areas and residences.

RCP companies chief development officer Max Grelier said: "Our intention is to craft a new, vibrant community that brings the energy of a high-density, urban design, as well as the options that a larger city might provide, to South Atlanta."

Jodeco|Atlanta South sits adjacent to Interstate 75.

It will comprise more than 500,000ft² of space for retail outlets as well as feature upscale hotels and around 600 houses.

A 30-acre park system would blend a natural wetland preserve with lawns, and the project would additionally feature a perimeter bike path, boardwalk bridge, etc.

Grelier added: "The physical environment at Jodeco|Atlanta South is designed to shift our patrons’ social and professional networks offline.

"By building for the customer, our developments focus on experiences, soft programming and architectural patterns at human scale and we’re really proud of that."

In terms of the number of households among 20 counties of Atlanta, Henry County ranks seventh and is the eighth most populated in the state of Georgia.
