Liverpool-based developer and builder PHD1 has gained approval for a £90m mixed-use development in the region, which includes the creation of residential, office, retail and leisure space.
The 18-storey North Point project will be built on the northern edge of the city centre and has been designed by Liverpool architectBLOK for investment client, Industrial Workshop (Pall Mall).
North Point sits near one of the main transport routes into the north of the city and will feature 366 flats, ground floor offices and shops, as well as a restaurant, spa and gym facilities.
The scheme is expected to replace industrial buildings on Pall Mall to the north of Liverpool city centre.
As part of the project, old warehouse frontages at the site will be kept in order to maintain an architectural link with the area’s heritage.
PHD1 chairman Peter McInnes said: "This is a hugely exciting project for us and, we believe, for the city.
"North Point will establish itself as a distinct destination, open up a different kind of urban living and take the expansion of the city centre outwards in a new direction."
"It also adds to our growing portfolio of development projects within the city, which add up to some £600m worth of investment."
PHD1 expects to be on-site by July and to complete the project by November 2017.
