Oxford Properties and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) have joined forces to build a 30-storey office tower, named RBC WaterPark Place, in downtown Toronto, Canada, which will become the new national headquarters for the Royal Bank of Canada.
The 930,000ft² RBC WaterPark Place will feature a seven-storey, 50,000ft² podium floorplate, and a 26,500ft² rectangular tower floorplate on floors eight to 30. It also will have over 50,000ft² of retail services and amenities on the lower floors.
The sustainable features of the building will include water saving infrastructure, including a cistern and grey-water re-use system, daylight sensors and state-of-the-art lighting controls, a 7,500m² green roof, and a sophisticated energy measurement and verification system.
The 30-storey building is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in late 2011 and scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2014.
