Construction firm Morgan Sindall has been selected by Cambridgeshire County Council to build a £37.5m education and leisure complex in Littleport, Cambridge, UK.
Morgan Sindall will have to build an early years school, primary school, three-storey secondary school, special needs school, as well as a community leisure centre, all at the same property in three phases, reported Ely-news.co.uk.
Secondary school Littleport Academy and the special educational needs (SEN) school will open for the 2017 academic year, reported Constructionenquirer.com.
Littleport Academy will initially cater to 600 students but then have the capacity to accomodate 750 in future.
The SEN school will accommodate 110 pupils and feature a pool for swimming therapy programmes.
The demolition of the existing leisure centre on Camel Road has already commenced, and the firm will build an education and a leisure complex in the existing structure.

By GlobalDataThe sports centre is a two-storey structure and will feature a fitness centre, multi-use hall, social bar area and a sports hall.
The firm will also focus on external landscaping and make improvements in current playing fields, as well as build new hard and soft play areas.
Under phase 2 and 3, the firm will construct a primary school expected to be completed by 2020, as well as an extension of Littleport Academy.
Morgan Sindall area director Bob Ensch was quoted by Ely-news.co.uk as saying: "Cambridgeshire has experienced significant economic growth in recent years, resulting in high demand for educational facilities.
"It’s therefore important that substantial, community-focused projects like this one are being delivered at this time.
"Designing and constructing quality buildings that provide a positive learning environment and enhance children and young people’s educational experience requires detailed and thoughtful planning.
"We’re looking forward to utilising our vast experience of working on world-class schools to deliver this great facility.
"Once complete, the Littleport complex will not only be a comprehensive educational centre for children of all ages and abilities, but an inclusive community hub with great leisure facilities."
