Real estate equity firm MGPA has opened a new 43-storey office tower, Asia Square, at Marina Bay in Singapore.
The tower is a mixed-use building in the central business district (CBD) and features more than 1.3 million square feet for office space, retail and a fitness centre.
Tower 2 will add another 246,000m2 of office, hotel and retail space by 2013.
The tower is spread across 35,000ft2 and built on a regular-shaped, column-free floor plate without any odd corners to ensure maximum utilisation of floor space.
Asia Square consists of a landscaped plaza named the Cube, a 100,000ft2 open public space which will be used as relaxation and recreational space.
The development also houses the first-ever urban oasis incorporating the 600-seater, garden-themed Food Garden, and a fitness centre.
