Meydan City Corporation has announced plans to develop a 3.67 million m² leisure, residential and hospitality destination in Dubai featuring the world’s tallest residential tower.

To be named Meydan One, the development will include the 711m-tall Dubai One residential tower and house more than 78,300 residents, reported official Emirates news agency WAM.

Dubai One will feature 885 residential apartments, a five-star hotel with 350 rooms, a conference centre, a 360deg observation deck at 655m-high, a sky restaurant at 675m-high, and a plaza view restaurant and terrace.

Once constructed, Meydan One will offer the largest indoor ski resort in the world, with a 1.2km slope.

Meydan One Mall will have a gross floor area of five million m² containing a 25,000m² indoor, multi-purpose, sport facility, more than 5.3km of bicycle and jogging trails, a 9km boardwalk, a civic plaza that can host upto 60,000 people with a dancing fountain reaching 420m-high, a 300m-long beach, and a heritage village.

The indoor sports facility will accommodate sports ranging from tennis, football, basketball, volleyball, squash, indoor cricket, mixed martial arts and softball, as well as a baseball batting cage, lacrosse, golf and hockey.

The development will also feature a 4km canal and a 100-berth marina, and the complex will have a 150m by 80m retractable roof to be opened in the winter months.

It will house more than 300 restaurants, cafes and kiosks offering fine dining and fast-food options in the UAE city, along with stores for flagship retailers, luxury standalone outlets and nightlife.
