Harper Court Partners and Canyon Johnson Urban Fund have broken ground on a new mixed-use development on the 3.3-acre Harper Court site in Hyde Park, Chicago, with a combined investment of more than $106m.
The development will include a 150,000ft2 office tower, a three-storey retail building, a hotel and new retail and dining options, along with other amenities.

Upon completion, the project’s office tower will accommodate approximately 500 employees from the University of Chicago.
The project is expected to create 800 construction jobs, 350 permanent retail jobs and 150 permanent hospitality jobs.
Construction work on the project is scheduled for completion in 2013.
