Construction systems manufacturer GEZE will equip the $490m Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC) new headquarters in the United Arab Emirates with the latest door technology.
The building has 77 floors spread across a 342 mile high structure.
US architectural firm Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum (HOK) has designed the new office complex, which is due for completion this year.
The new ADNOC headquarters, claimed to the second highest building in Abu Dhabi, is connected with a courtyard, a museum and an underground car park.
The GEZE boxer series’ 2500 closers, which will be integrated into the doors, ensure safe closing of doors that must be shut at all times, or at least in the case of fire.
The door closers are completely set into the door leaf, and the guide rail is visible only when the door is open.
GEZE will integrate 120 large automatic sliding doors with power drives, which ensure automatic door comfort and safety.
The doors, which can be used for indoor areas and facades, also offer optimal passing comfort, while their hold-open time adapts itself to passage frequency.
The power drive’s control unit will make the doors future-proof and enable a connection to the building system. This helps to monitor and modify door functions remotely.
