Architects Gehry Partners and Foster + Partners have revealed designs for the third development phase of Battersea Power Station in South London.
The designs were presented for new homes and for a pedestrianised retail street in the area.
The Electric Boulevard high street represents Gehry Partners’ first permanent London project, and will serve as the main gateway to the Battersea development.
Designed by Rafael Vinoly, the 17 acre Battersea Power Station master plan will comprise more than 3,400 homes, offices, shops and restaurants.
The third phase will cover more than 1,300 homes, a 160-room hotel, 350,000ft² of retail and restaurant space, as well as additional leisure space.
Battersea Power Station Development CEO Rob Tincknell said that phase three is an important part of the company’s plans for the site, creating a new thoroughfare which will be at the heart of the community.
