Baylor University has approved a $120m investment plan to construct a new 700-bed residential complex and dining facility on the east side of campus and the renovation of its Marrs McLean Science Building in Waco, Texas, US.
The investment will also be used for Phase 2 of the initial construction of academic and research space in the Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative (BRIC).

Around $70m will be invested in the 238,715ft2 East Village Residential Community, which includes two four-story facilities.
The 354-bed North Residential Community will house the Engineering and Computer Science Residential College and the 347-bed South Residential Community will house the Science and Health Living-Learning Community.
The project also includes the construction of a 33,170ft2, two-storey dining hall to accommodate 500 students, which includes an outdoor terrace and two private dining rooms, exhibition-style service and space for a retail bakery.
The construction work on the new residential community is expected to begin in March 2012 and be completed by August 2013.
