BAM Construct UK may secure a £25m deal for upgrading and refurbishing the Southbank Centre artistic venue complex in London.
The firm has already signed a pre-construction services agreement making it responsible for repair and maintenance works at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, and Hayward Gallery.
Refurbishment of the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room auditoria must preserve the original character of the spaces.
Work will include renovation of the walls, floors and ceilings, as well as restoration of the existing seating.
In addition, BAM will create new areas with glazing along the south western corner of the Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer and at the rear undercroft area beside the Purcell Room artist entrance.
A BAM spokesman was quoted by Construction Enquirer as saying: "We have a pre-construction services contract in connection with the refurbishment of three existing Southbank Centre buildings; the Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room.
