UK real estate developer Allied London has completed submission of its plans for the £1.3bn redevelopment of the St John’s neighbourhood in Manchester.
The project will be created on the site of the former ITV Old Granada Studios in the city centre.

Spread across 15 acres, the project has been planned to offer a new neighbourhood for living, enterprise and culture.
Allied London recently submitted plans for the final phases of development, which included provisions for St John’s Place, The Villages, The Riverside, and Manchester’s first vertical village, Trinity Islands.
Refurbishment designs submitted in June covered the Bonded Warehouse and conversion of the old ITV studio headquarters building into an event hotel called the Manchester Grande.
St John’s Place has been planned as the gateway for the new neighbourhood, and will comprise a cluster of four mixed-use buildings of varying heights.

By GlobalDataThe Villages will consist of low-rise, residential apartments with integrated spaces allocated for retail and workspace developments.
In contrast, The Riverside is planned as a vibrant, green space beside the River Irwell and will include public and semi-public pocket parks, along with two residential towers, sculptural terraces, sunken gardens, and informal seating areas.
Designed by Child Graddon Lewis architects, Trinity Islands will be the first vertical village in the city, providing 1,200 homes within six inter-connecting residential towers.
Architects Simpson Haugh was responsible for all of the buildings, including the overall masterplan.
Allied London intends to start construction on the St John’s segment next year, after receiving planning approval.
