NCC Building Nordics head Catarina Molén-Runnäs said: “To construct large, state-of-the-art hospitals featuring the latest technology places high demands on us as contractors and on our customers, and therefore collaboration is crucial.

“Our successful cooperation with the Joint Municipal Authority of the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District will be a great foundation to build on as we embark on the next phase.”

The company noted that the preparatory works at the project site have commenced.

Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in January 2022 and is planned to be completed for June 2025.

OYS2030 programme director Kari-Pekka Tampio said: “It’s great that we can utilize the project management processes, tools and design solutions, that we have developed and executed together during the first phase.”

Recently, NCC won $38m (SEK345m) contract to upgrade two harbours in Hammerfest and Forsöl in northern part of Norway on behalf of Hammerfest Municipality and the Norwegian Coastal Administration.
