
Hercules, the foundation laying company of NCC, has been commissioned by By & Havn to renovate Langelinie Quay in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The contract carries a value of $21.7m (SEK220m).
The present Langelinie Quay in Copenhagen was constructed in 1935 and require a total overhaul to help it last for several years.
Under this contract, NCC will be responsible right from the removal of about 650m of current concrete bottom protection over the quay section, to building a new sheet pile wall with ground anchors over a 1km section, installation of upgraded bollards on 64 new cast bollard foundations, besides development of existing fenders.
The new quay equipment such as rescue ladders and rescue lines will also be set up and the drainage management system for cruise ships will be finished.
The work on this contract will begin in autumn this year and will continue until the end of 2024.

By GlobalDataThis contract will be booked by the company in the second quarter of 2022 under the NCC Infrastructure business segment.
Meanwhile, NCC and Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) are constructing the Bioeconomy Arena, a pilot hall with test bed facilities to develop new biochemical products, in the Domsjö district of Örnsköldsvik.
This turnkey contract valued at around $14.5m (SEK150m).
The 2,600m2 pilot hall will be constructed using a wooden frame and wooden façades, with a matching sedum roof over part of the building.
The building will feature specially adapted testing areas, laboratories and related offices with meeting spaces to undertake research operations.
