NCC and NREP have signed a $24.39m (SEK260m) design build contract for 191 apartments in the Niittykumpu district of Espoo, Helsinki, Finland.
This contract is the continuation of NCC’s partnership with NREP in the district.
The two entities earlier built two phases with residential units, and the third phase is just as the previous ones.
NCC will record the order in Q3 2022 in its Building Nordics business.
The project will feature buildings between four and nine stories tall, and include an inner courtyard and a parking garage.
Upon its completion, the area will feature a total of 620 apartments.

By GlobalDataNCC Building Nordics head Catarina Molén-Runnäs said: “In this project, we had the opportunity to get involved at an early stage, where together with NREP we developed plans for how the area is to be built. This guaranteed a smooth construction process. Building the project in different phases has allowed us to optimize the process along the way.”
The project features many solutions for decreasing carbon emissions. For instance, the residential units will draw heat from renewable energy.
The project aims to be LEED Gold certified.
NREP head of investing Antti Toropainen said: “It has been a pleasure working with NCC on this project, which means a great deal to us. Once it is completed, we will have a well-balanced offering of services for the residents, where a sense of community and sustainable values are center stage. We are really looking forward to continuing to develop the area around the Niittykumpu subway station.”
The third phase construction will commence immediately.
The project is estimated to be finished by the summer of 2024.
