MLP Group has celebrated the commencement of construction of Business Park Vienna with a ground-breaking ceremony.

The ceremony saw in attendance representatives from general contractor Goldbeck Rhomberg and MLP Group, alongside Vienna’s 22nd district deputy head Karl Gasta.

This development marks the company’s first venture into the Austrian market.

Gasta said: “By selecting Donaustadt, MLP has chosen Vienna’s largest and one of its most beautiful districts. The former industrial site of the US oil company ExxonMobil, located adjacent to the city centre, lay fallow for a long time.

“Now, thanks to extensive redevelopment and revitalisation, this area is being transformed into a highly needed new space. The district is very pleased with this development.”

MLP Business Park Vienna, once completed, will feature four buildings with a combined floor area of approximately 53,600m².

Situated on a 100,000m² brownfield site in Vienna’s north-eastern region, the space will offer flexible modules starting from approximately 3,100m².

ODÖRFER Haustechnik, part of GC Group Austria, has been announced as the first tenant.

MLP Group Austria chief country officer Peter Falb said: “Our investment in Vienna is generating significant interest. We have already secured our first agreement with a future tenant and are holding negotiations with more internationally renowned entities.

“This project stands out due to its ultramodern architecture and the implementation of top-tier sustainability solutions. The completed facilities will be available early next year.”

The project is being executed while adhering to a sustainable development strategy and incorporating technology.

It will include green roofs, solar photovoltaic systems, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The park will further offer a recreational area complete with a pond and nesting boxes to support local wildlife and contribute to species conservation.

MLP Group is also aiming to secure a DGNB Certificate in gold or higher for the project.
