Malaysian developer AlloyMtd Group has awarded a contract to construction and consultancy firm Mace to redevelop the One Crown Place mixed development in London, UK.

Mace won the contract after it worked on the job under a pre-construction services deal.

Located north of London’s Liverpool Street Station, the scheme will feature two residential towers above a podium office space to meet the requirements of people who want to live and work in the same area. The residential section will have 246 private apartments.

The office space will be accommodated a new podium building and the renovated 54 Wilson Street building, which will respectively offer 120,000ft² and 20,000ft² of net floor area.

“We thank AlloyMtd Group for the faith and trust they are placing in us to deliver such a fantastic scheme on their behalf.”

Retail space will be allocated on the ground floor of all of the buildings.

Construction is due to start next month and scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2020.

AlloyMtd firm chief executive officer Tee Kim Siew said: “We are very pleased to have appointed Mace to deliver this iconic mixed-use development in Central London. This is a major milestone for the project and for AlloyMtd Group, and demonstrates our commitment to delivering a world-class, vibrant destination located in one of the capital’s most exciting areas.”

Mace construction chief operating officer Gareth Lewis said: “After working on the pre-construction phase of One Crown Place, we’re very pleased to have Mace’s role confirmed on the construction of the project. We thank AlloyMtd Group for the faith and trust they are placing in us to deliver such a fantastic scheme on their behalf.

“The project’s unique design will make for a complex construction delivery; particularly the engineering behind the three-storey steel truss that supports the two towers.”

The One Crown Place development was designed by architects Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF).

In 2015, AlloyMtd Group selected CBRE to serve as development manager to sell the location’s 246 private apartments and lease 140,000ft² of commercial space.
