India’s L&T Construction has secured three contracts to build office project in Bangalore, supply surface-based bulk drinking water in Punjab and construct down and up lines of a bypass grade separator in Madhya Pradesh.

As per L&T Construction, the three contracts are worth between INR10bn ($135.9m) and INR25bn ($340m) in total.

The first project was secured by L&T Construction’s Buildings & Factories business. It includes design and construction of a grade A office space at two locations in the city of Bangalore on a turnkey basis.

The two buildings are expected to have a total built-up area of nearly two million ft² and will be built in a configuration of three basements, one ground floor and 13 floors. The total seating capacity of both the buildings is about 14,600.

The scope of works include civil / structure works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), façade works, common area finishes along with external development works. Part of sustainable design initiatives, the project is expected to be Gold LEED certified after completion.

The second project has been awarded by Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board to the company’s Water & Effluent Treatment business.

As per the project, the company has agreed to provide on a design, build, operate and transfer basis, to supply surface-based bulk drinking water in the town of Jalandhar town.

It includes the design and construction of raw water storage and sedimentation tank, raw water settling tank cum pumphouse and water treatment plant of capacity 275 millions of litres per day (MLD)

The company will also construct clear water reservoir, underground storage reservoirs and pumping stations, raw and clear water transmission pipelines, associated electromechanical and instrumentation, control and automation work.

When completed, the water supply project is expected to cater to the bulk drinking water needs of Jalandhar town supplying to nearly 1.38 million people and can help convert existing ground-based water supply system in the town to a surface-based system.

The third contract has been secured by L&T GeoStructure which will build down and up Lines (Package 1 & 2) of a bypass grade separator in Katni district, Madhya Pradesh.

The scope of the work includes the construction of about 2,800 piles, pile caps, piers, pier caps, superstructure, embankment with retaining walls. It is expected to be built within 36 months.
