
L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has secured two contracts in India and Saudi Arabia.
The construction company has classified the orders as ‘significant’, which it categorises between INR10bn ($135.68m) and INR25bn ($339.2m).
The company’s Construction Services Business unit was awarded a contract from GAIL India for Mumbai – Nagpur Pipeline in India.
Under the contract, the business unit will be responsible for laying steel gas pipeline, which is the first section of Part A of the pipeline project.
Work on the project also includes construction of terminals along with associated facilities.
The gas pipeline will be laid alongside the upcoming Mumbai – Nagpur super communication expressway. This project is planned to be completed in 14 months.
LTHE’s the business unit has also secured a contract from Air Products Middle East Industrial Gases for its Industrial Gas Hub (IGH) Network project at Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
The scope of work under the contract involves construction of steam methane reformer (SMR) to produce hydrogen and hydrogen pressure swing adsorption (PSA) units.
The company will also be responsible for the construction of an air separation unit (ASU) to produce oxygen and nitrogen.
Work on the project is scheduled to be completed in 22 months.
In August this year, L&T’s construction subsidiary L&T Construction was awarded contracts for various projects in India and Saudi Arabia.
The company’s Buildings & Factories business unit has secured a contract to construct multilevel parking and advocates chamber for the high court at Allahabad in the Indian state Uttar Pradesh.
The new facility will comprise 2,294 advocate chambers, 2,323 car parking spaces in a multilevel car parking, 1,552 two-wheeler parking spaces and associated utility buildings.
