L&T Construction, the construction subsidiary of Indian firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has been awarded contracts for various projects in India and Saudi Arabia.
The construction company has classified the orders as ‘significant’, which it terms as anywhere worth between INR10bn ($136.3m) and INR25bn ($340.8m).

The company’s Buildings & Factories business unit has secured a contract to build Multilevel Parking and Advocates Chamber for the high court at Allahabad in Indian state Uttar Pradesh.
The new facility will include 2,294 Advocate chambers, 2,323 car parking spaces in a multilevel car parking, 1,552 two-wheeler parking spaces along with associated utility buildings.
Under the contract, business unit will also be responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, and construction of civil and related MEP works.
Work on the project is planned to be completed in 27 months.
L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business unit has been awarded a contract to construct a substation in Saudi Arabia.
The company said that the work on the Gas Insulated Substation project includes four different voltage levels up to 380kV along with the associated control, protection, automation, telecommunication systems as well as civil & electromechanical works.
Its Smart World & Communication business has secured a contract from the Moradabad Smart City for another smart city project for Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The scope of work under the contract involves design, development, implementation, and management of the operations and maintenance of a command-and-control centre (CCC), CCTV surveillance and smart traffic solutions.
It also includes integration of various ICT components with an Integrated Command and Control Centre Platform (ICCC).
The project aims to establish an Integrated Command and Control Center Smart City Platform/applications to monitor and operate Smart City services.
Work on the project also includes Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS), Intelligent Traffic Control System with traffic enforcement, Citizen Web Portal, City Surveillance System with video analytics, a mobile app and helpdesk, Smart Parking Management Solution, etc.
