The launch of the urban landmark GMR AeroCity Hyderabad, which will be spread across 1,500 acres in the international airport, was announced by GMR Group.

The AeroCity will provide a gateway airport full of smart technologies that will be a logistics hub with growing air connectivity and passenger traffic.

GMR AeroCity Hyderabad has been planned as an integrated mixed-use development housing key ports and establishments, such as aerospace and industrial park, business park, retail park, logistics park and hospitality.

The AeroCity also offers a comprehensive living and working environment encompassing support infrastructure, such as schools, rental accommodation, healthcare, leisure and entertainment.

GMR Airport Land Development (ALD) CEO Aman Kapoor said: “Hyderabad AeroCity is creating a paradigm shift in the way of doing business in India. It offers connected, smart and sustainable workspaces with optimum leasing depths to maximise workspace design efficiency. Being part of the airport ecosystem, Hyderabad AeroCity also provides ease of doing business to its trusted partners.”

GMR Group is planning to create a lifestyle destination retail project called ‘GMR Interchange’, which will enable the concept of LIVE/WORK/PLAY at GMR AeroCity Hyderabad.

Entertainment avenues for the Interchange project, which are being visualised within the campus, include a cinema and a family entertainment centre.

Also part of the GMR Interchange is a hospitality district, which cater to the growing demand arising from the users of AeroCity.

The GMR Business Park will offer infrastructural support for existing and prospective businesses along with varied office real estate solutions, such as ready-to-move-in Grade-A offices and built-to-suit campuses.

A one-stop clearance window for all building plan approvals called Notified Area Committee (NAC) will contribute towards facilitating business, with focus on sustainable development employing smart digital infrastructure, green technologies, and quality physical infrastructure.

Designed for the future business corridor, GMR AeroCity Hyderabad measures around 1 million ft2 of leasable area, which will be spread over four towers which are being developed in phases.

The AeroCity is well connected with the primary and secondary business districts of Hyderabad, via an eight-lane expressway and an elevated corridor.

Apart from this, the airport, which is currently connected by more than 150 buses plying round the clock, will soon be connected through an express Metro system to the city.
