The Lakes at Lyndale project is nearing completion in Richfield city, Minnesota, the US, with the opening of condominiums.

The project includes 30 for-sale condos, eight rental townhomes, and 66 apartments, as well as retail space.

The Richfield Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) awarded the project contract to The Cornerstone Group in 2009.

In 2011, HRA committed financial resources to the site and agreed to offer tax increment financing to the project.

The Lakes at Lyndale site is expected to open for live music, community events, farm stands and pedestrian access to Richfield Lake, subject to the lifting of public gathering restrictions.

Community Development assistant director Melissa Poehlman said: “The vision for the Lakes at Lyndale area is one of a vibrant, mixed-use, walkable area that takes advantage of the proximity to natural areas.

“The completion of this last phase of the project truly reflects our original vision for the area: residents can enjoy beautiful views and easy access to Richfield Lake, walk to Lakewinds Food Co-op for groceries, and hopefully in the near future enjoy food and entertainment at the amphitheatre.”

Lakeside at Lyndale Gardens is the last component of the nine-acre project developed by The Cornerstone Group. Owners of the 30-unit project are moving in this month.

These units, which range in bedroom count and square footage, are equipped with floor to ceiling windows facing the lake, along with hardwood flooring and outdoor decks.

Poehlman added: “This last phase of housing added to the Lakes at Lyndale project is a much different product than the city has seen previously.”

The Henly is the apartment component of the project that opened last year. It includes 66 units of apartments. The eight two-storey townhomes were also opened last year.

Lakewinds Food Co-op is the first stage of the project built on the south end of the site in 2013. It also included the construction of public amenities for the greater community on the site.
