The Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) Trust has unveiled the design of a mosque which is planned to be constructed at Ayodhya, a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Modern technology has been used for the design of the solar-powered mosque which will be egg-shaped.

This structure will be built in Ayodhya’s Dhannipur village on a five-acre land allocated to the trust in the dispute case by the Supreme Court last year.

In a presentation of the project, the IICF Trust said that the name of the mosque is yet to be decided.

It revealed a computer-generated image of the planned two-storeyed mosque that shows a massive glass dome across a picturesque garden.

Designs of contemporary mosques from different parts of the globe were presented by the IIFC Trust.

The project’s first phase will see the construction of a hospital along with the mosque. Foundation stone for this phase is expected to be placed early next year.

In the second phase, the hospital will be expanded. The hospital building has a futuristic design.

The IICF Trust said in a statement: “The hospital will provide state-of-the-art facilities, much needed in the nearby area and population, focusing on malnourishment in children and expectant mothers.

“The building will also house the trust office and publication house focusing on research and publication house of Indo Islamic cultural-literature studies.”

In addition to the mosque and the hospital, the complex will feature a community kitchen and a modern library.

The IICF Trust was formed by the Uttar Pradesh government and the State Sunni Central Waqf Board.
