Hotel Properties (HPL), controlled by billionaire Ong Beng Seng, has secured provisional permission (PP) for a mixed-use project in Singapore.
The company has plans to redevelop the Forum, Voco Orchard Singapore, and HPL House properties located along Orchard Road and Cuscaden Road.
The PP has been issued by Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority under the Strategic Development Incentive (SDI) Scheme. It is subject to certain terms and conditions.
In a press statement, HPL said: “The application for the PP was made in response to the rejuvenation incentives for strategic areas under the SDI Scheme, as part of our asset management review to identify assets under the HPL Group which could potentially be enhanced and their values optimised.”
The company added: “It will be a focal point to the north-west of Orchard Road, a new critical mass of mixed activities, a gateway destination on Orchard Road and provide connectivity between the site and neighbouring developments.”
The proposed mixed-use redevelopment will comprise hotel, retail, office, and residential components in two tower buildings on the sites, which have a combined land area of 14,027m².
