Granite has secured three contracts totaling around $23.8m from Ellis-Prairie Soil and Water Conservation District in Ellis County, Texas, US.
The first contract was added by the firm in its Q4 2021 CAP while the other two contracts are expected to be included in its Q1 2022 CAP.
Under the scope of work, Granite will be responsible for rehabilitation and upgrading of floodwater retarding structures at three sites.
These three projects feature 178,000 CY of excavation, 51,000 CY of embankment, installation of principal spillway inlets, three labyrinth weir structures and related pipework, irrigation, pollution control, and removal of water.
The upgrades to be carried out at each site will be key in supporting the ongoing operations of the district’s series of structures and dams that are located across the county.
These upgrades will aid to protect downstream areas from flooding following rain events, and also control rainfall runoff temporarily.
