Situated between Stratford High Street and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) will provide 321 bedspaces in a rapidly developing area of east London.
The proximity to Pudding Mill Lane Docklands Light Railway station, only 100m away, enhances the site’s connectivity.
Graham regional director Pat O’Hare said: “Stratford continues to attract significant investment and has established itself as a major destination for education, innovation and culture. This scheme responds to growing demand for high-quality student accommodation while creating an environment that supports well-being, encourages community and contributes positively to the wider area.
“Working in partnership with Gamuda Land UK and the wider project team, we look forward to bringing forward a development that will become an important addition to Stratford’s evolving landscape.”
The development reflects Gamuda Land UK’s strategy to build well-connected, sustainable communities, addressing the growing demand for student accommodation in prime educational hubs.
It will feature a mix of cluster living and self-contained studios, along with amenities such as shared kitchens, dining areas, a gym and games rooms.
Landscaped surroundings will include an elevated communal area along the site, encouraging social interaction and offering views of the local waterways. The ground floor will add 294m² of commercial space designated for artists’ studios and workspaces, supporting Stratford’s creative sector.
Infrastructure improvements are also part of the development, including a new road and improved pedestrian and cycle routes. These enhancements aim to improve connectivity with neighbouring areas.
The Marshgate Lane project is part of Gamuda Land UK’s expanding portfolio in London.
Last month, the UK Environment Agency appointed Graham to lead construction of the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme, an infrastructure project aimed at reducing flood risk in England.
